Why is it important to budget and to pre-plan expenditure for a media production?

Their are around 4 main steps for the importance of pre-production, these consist of:
1- Design your brief (and budget)
For this they need to plan a few things these consist of:

• What are the key messages?
• Who is your audience?
• What is your call to action/ what do you want the audience to do after watching this video?

2- Conveying your messages (scripting)
The script is an important part of every pre-production as this is because they will need to focus on what is the most idea thing to say at that moment but at the same time, but also how it should be said.

3- Bring it to life with a storyboard
This is important as this will start making the concept of the production as this will result in the film getting shown and furthermore they can start to focus on other factors, such as actors in the background.

4- The boring (but vital parts) - Call sheets and logistics
The call sheet and logistics are the crucial part in which need to be sorted as this will mean the efficiency of the production, as if the call sheet isn't followed than this will mean that they will be behind on schedule, which will set them back hundreds of thousands of pounds per day.

Give an example of how even when pre-planning and budgeting happens, unforeseen circumstances can affect production?

An example of when unforeseen circumstances can affect production is the mission impossible (fall out). As Tom Cruise (main actor) fractured his ankle which meant that they will not be able to film as many shots as they wanted as they could do waist high shots and furthermore over the shoulder shots, however, this means that they are limited to what they can show, which will mean that the whole project will be set back. 

Outline some of the logistics for pre-production, production and post production stages of a film's product.

Some of the logistics for pre-production is sorting out a range of different areas these consist of:

• Location permits and permissions, including signing legal production releases
• Location scouting for right visual fit, access, options, lighting, electricity, special needs for the segment
• On-site experts or people who will also be in your film – on-camera releases (under 18 years old present special attention), apparel, planned roles.
• Props and gear that fit the talent and science content.
• Travel, food, lodging, changing rooms, bathrooms
• Lighting, animals, trainers, special support crews
• Secondary plans in event of rain, wind, location issues (consider setting up secondary location beforehand)

For the production of making a new film their are some special factors in which are for the logistics. These are :

• The facilities will need to be thought of when making a film.
• The Location must be found and they must need to get permission to enable them to film at that premises.
• The code of practise and regulations as this will mean that that the actors and staff are all safe at their specific locations, and that all the paperwork is properly filled out.
• The documentation explains the script, the storyboard and also other crucial forms of paperwork in which are needed
